Chez Stephan is the meeting point of Stephan Gallice’s two long-standing passions, brought together under one roof in Putney.

Stephan says he first worked around a hair salon at age 12. As a young stylist in Lyon, he trained, competed and worked his way into managing salons. When he opened a business in London, he put hairdressing and wine in the same room.
Wine had been part of family life too. He grew up around Lyon and the Alps; his grandfather supplied local businesses with fish and wine, while his grandmother’s restaurant gave him time around kitchens and sommeliers. Those connections later helped him build relationships with French wine producers.

The shop’s published lists span Burgundy, Beaujolais, Rhône, Bordeaux, Languedoc and Champagne, alongside other European and New World wines.
Stay a while.
Beyond the main salon, the venue describes a private ladies’ salon and a back garden: more room than the shopfront suggests.
